President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday cancelled an official visit to Bayelsa State, in the aftermath of the Supreme Court’s declaration of the Peoples Democratic Party as the winner of last November’s governorship election in Bayelsa State.
He had reportedly promised to witness the inauguration of the All Progressives Congress governorship candidate, David Lyon, as the governor but cancelled his plan when it was upturned.
Meanwhile, APC National Chairman Adams Oshiomhole accused the Independent National Electoral Commission of “illegally” declaring Diri as the winner of the election.
He also accused INEC of arrogating judicial powers to itself in determining the winner of the election.
He told journalists in Abuja that the party would challenge the apex court’s decision.
Oshiomhole’s comments since the judgment have left Nigerians bewildered even as many cautioned him to watch his utterances.
