Bandits on Wednesday attacked the convoy of Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, on its way from the Zamfara State capital, Gusau.

The governor had attended the formal defection of Zamfara State Governor, Bello Matawalle, from the Peoples Democratic Party to the All Progressives Congress.

Ganduje was not in the convoy as he had rebuked his aides for not filling the tanks of the cars for the return journey to Kano.

He consequently joined his Jigawa State counterpart, Muhammadu Badaru, to his own state capital, Dutse.

On the return journey, Ganduje’s convoy cane under heavy attack, leaving two policemen injured.

The ambulance in the convoy was riddled with bullets.

The governor’s security aides, however, repelled the attack.
