Anambra: Police arrest security guard for killing 22-yr-old man


The police in Okpoko Division of Onitsha in Anambra State on Monday arrested a private security guard, Ibuchi Nwoju, 26, for allegedly killing 22-year-old Cletus Chisom after an altercation.

Spokesman for the command, SP Haruna Mohammed, said in a statement that the guard, who was attached to Coca Cola Market in Onitsha and an indigene of Asa village in Abia State, stabbed the victim with a knife on the chest.

Consequently, the victim of Ekekwe Street in Onitsha fell unconscious and was rushed to GoodNews Hospital, Onitsha where he was confirmed dead.

His corpse was subsequently deposited at Toronto Hospital, also in the commercial city.

The police were informed and arrested the guard.

Anambra State Commissioner of Police, CP John B. Abang, fdc, ordered for the immediate transfer of the case to State CID Awka for discreet investigation.
