A leading All Progressives Grand Alliance governorship aspirant in Anambra State, Hon. Smart Okafor, on Friday ordered his aides to withdraw his campaign posters from the secretariat of the All Progressives Congress in Ogidi, Idemili North Local Government Area.

He also promised to investigate how the posters got to the rival party’s secretariat.

A statement by his Head of Corporate Communications, Smart Campaign Organization, Martin Beck Nworah, reads: “The attention of the Hon Nonso Smart Okafor Campaign Organization has been drawn to a publication in the public space with the above title from the APC office in Ogidi, Idemili North Local Government.

We wish to categorically state that our campaign office was not initially aware of the said posters of our principal put up at the APC office.

Immediately our principal found out, he reached out to the party hierarchy in the local government and tendered his unreserved apology while instructing the said posters to be removed.

As at the time of this release, the posters of our principal has been removed from the said position and the place restored to its initial state before the posters of our principal went up there.

We have launched a comprehensive investigation to discover the mischief makers who wanted to ferment troubles by pasting the posters of our principal at the APC office.

We understand the sentiment behind the release by the APC structure in the local government and hope they’ll be more cordial and respectful in their use of words. Calling names and using disparaging words isn’t the best way to communicate their grievances.

As a campaign organisation, we tender our apology to the APC party structure in the local government and hope they move on with their activities.”
