Acting CJN probes corruption memo

The Acting Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Oluwakayode Ariwoola, on Monday said he had started a probe into allegations if corruption and misconduct levelled against his predecessor, Ibrahim Muhammed Tanko, by 14 Justices of the Supreme Court.

Speaking with State House correspondents after his swearing in by President Muhammadu Buhari, Ariwoola said the memo was not a petition or a letter but an internal correspondence.

He said the issues raised in the memo were already being looked into, adding that it was not correct to say they led to the sudden resignation of the CJN.
