Lagos State Commissioner for Health, Prof. Akin Abayomi, on Thursday said the state government would only admit severe cases of COVID-19 to its isolation centres.
He said in a statement that mild and moderate cases would be treated in their homes as the isolation centre had been overstretched.
He said the state government was concentrating on severe cases in order to effectively combat the deadly virus.
“We have exceeded the containment phase now. We are at the active community transmission stage.
“We will be concentrating on people with severe cases and isolating them while mild cases will be managed at home. Our attention is shifting to community-based isolation,” he said.
