A Nigerian lady, Mrs. Kafayat Amusan, one of the travellers returning from Dubai, UAE, on Wednesday delivered a baby boy aboard an Emirates aircraft departing to Lagos.
She delivered the baby,30 minutes after take-pff, forcing the aircraft to Dubai.
She is currently on admission at a hospital, in Dubai, according to a statement by the Head, Media and Public Relations, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Abuja, Abdur-Rahman Balogun.
Emirates Airline had to transfer the passengers to another aircraft, which later left for Lagos with 265 returnees on board.
The Nigerian Ambassador in Dubai, Ambassador Rimi and his staffers are in touch with the mother and child, who are in good condition, the statement added.
The Chairman/CEO, NIDCOM, Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, congratulated Amusan for another addition in her family and prayed
for her safe return to the country.
Dabiri-Erewa said the nursing mother and her baby woukd return to Nigeria after obtaining birth certificate and other necessary travel documents for the child.
