Grace and Truth Church, an international non-denominational Christian ministry, on Thursday suspended services at its locations in Lagos and Ogun states “till further notice,” in line with government’s order.
This is as Nigeria fights to contain the ravaging novel Coronavirus, which has recorded up to 12 cases in Lagos alone.
A number of state governments had issued orders banning gatherings of more than 50 persons at a time, especially in religious centres.
Therefore, in line with the directives, the church, which also operates under the banner of the Christian Ministry of Reconciliation, made the announcement in WhatsApp messages circulated to members.
It states: “In line with the state government’s ban on gathering of people above 50, the Church has ordered the brethren to meet at their house fellowship centers for Thursday and Sunday service till further notice.”
A number of other churches such as the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries and Daystar Christian Centre among others have shot their locations and suspended services in line with government’s directive.
