Lagos isolates first Lassa Fever patient

Lagos State Government on Tuesday said it had isolated its first Lassa Fever patient at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital in Ikeja.

Commission for Health, Prof. Akin Abayomi, who broke the news, said the state government was working in conjunction with the Federal Ministry of Health and the Centre for Disease Control to contain the spread of the disease.

He urged the people of the state not to panic.

Lassa Fever has been ravaging 19 states of the federation and has attracted much attention from health authorities due to its high mortality rate.
