How civil defence officer killed Imo billionaire politician



The reckless shooting by a Nigerian Security and Civil Defence officer attached to Ndubuisi Emenike, an Imo North senatorial aspirant, led to the killing of the billionaire.

Witnesses said Emenike arrived the venue of a victory party hosted by Miriam Onuoha, who was declared the winner of the Okigwe Federal Constituency rerun election, at her home in Umunachi in Isiala Mbano Local Government Area of the state, on Sunday.

A stray bullet from the civil defence escort’s gun hit the politician around 5pm.

Emenike slumped and died immediately.

Spokesman for the Imo State Police Command, Orlando Ikeokwu, confirmed the incident, adding that the errant officer had been arrested.
