Police declare Nnamdi Kanu’s lawyer wanted




Nigeria Police on Tuesday declared Mr. Ifeanyi Ejiofor, the lawyer to the leader of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra Mazi Nnamdi Kanu wanted over the recent clash between the group’s members and the police in Oraifite, Anambra State.

Kanu had in a tweet accused the police of invading his lawyer’s country home and killing two IPOB members.

However, the police said they responded to a distress call and in the process, lost the Area Commander for Oraifite, ACP Oliver Abbey, and an officer attached to the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, ASP Joseph Akubo.

In a statement by the spokesperson for the Anambra State Police Command, SP Haruna Mohammed, the police said: “Anambra State Police Command whishes to inform the general public that warrant of arrest was obtained by the Police in respect of one Barrister Ifeanyi Ejiofor ‘m’ of Oraifite(a member of the proscribed IPOB) over alleged cases of Conspiracy,murder, treasonable felony ,Arson and Armed Robbery.

“The command enjoins the Public with useful information that could lead to the arrest of the aforementioned suspect to contact the nearest Police Station/ formations or call the Police emergency number 07039194332 for prompt action, please.”
