AIG Zone 2 orders tight security in Lagos, Ogun

The Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Zone 2 Command, AIG Lawal Shehu, psc hereby assures members of the public within Lagos and Ogun States peaceful Independence day celebration as all necessary security measures have been put in place to avoid any calamity before, during and after the Independence day celebration.

Usually at ’ember months’ (September, October, November & December) crimes and criminality are always on the increase, the Police urge members of the public to be safe and careful in their dealings.

The AIG has directed the two Commissioners of Police in charge of Lagos and Ogun to beef up security in their states while he has deployed strike forces and specialised units of the force to strategic points within the two states to monitor human activities in order to forestall a breakdown of law and order.

These were contained in a statement by the zonal spokesperson, Hauwa Idris-Adamu, on Monday.

It said the AIG further urged the public to punctually report any suspicious person or movement to the Police so as to checkmate and combat activities of the hoodlums within the Zone during and beyond the Independence day as he, on behalf of Officers and Men of the Command wishes all residents of Lagos and Ogun States a happy Independence celebration.
