An Ikorodu, Lagos-based ex-rapper with major musical group, YBNL, known as Pelepele, has reportedly committed suicide after trying for 10 years to hit it big in his musical career.
This was disclosed on Twitter by some associates.
One of them, Debbie Mackanaki, wrote: “So a close friend committed suicide this morning in Ikorodu. We’ve been waiting for @PoliceNG since morning to come for his body! Olanrewaju Pelepele! RIP.”
He had featured prominently in the group founded by top artiste, Olamide.
He was said to have battled depression for a long time before he finally killed himself.
He had posted two hashtags #mylastmoments and #lastanza on Instagram on September 13, 2019 shortly before he took his own life a week later.
There was no word from the police.
