Days after technology firm and talent accelerator, Andela, sacked 420 junior engineers in Nigeria, Kenya and Uganda, recruiters have started seeking for new jobs for them.
The recruiters are banking on placing the junior engineers in firms requiring the high-quality experience the sacked staffers acquired at Andela.
The recruiters have already posted notices on Twitter and LinkedIn and opened online forms for the affected engineers to fill.
The staffers are being asked to fill in their names, previous Andela roles and desirable work locations.
Some ex-Andela engineers are already responding to the calls.
Andela said in a notice on Tuesday that it was laying off the engineers to create room for 700 experienced engineers being sought for by its clients.
Jeremy Johnson, Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of Andela, made this known Tuesday in a statement titled “The Future of Andela”.
Prior to the sacking, Andela had 1575 engineers.
