Anambra State Government had commenced the counting if herdsmen and livestock in the state, according to the Chairman of the Cattle Menace Control Committee, Igwe Peter Eze-Amama.
Addressing journalists in Awka, the state capital on Thursday, he said it was intended to end clashes between farmers and herdsmen in the state.
He said the exercise would take place at Amansea, in Awka South Local Government Area.
The exercise would also cover Fulani butchers in the state.
Also speaking, the South-East Chairman of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria, Alhaji Gidado Siddiki, commended the state government for the enumeration and urged herdsmen and butchers to comply.
