Musician, Timi Dakolo, in Friday debunked reports that he was denied a visa to the United Kingdom.
In a tweet, Dakolo said he was surprised to read the story on a website – www.reporterswall.com.
The portal had claimed it got the story from controversial blogger, Kemi Olunloyo.
She alleged that Timi and his family were planning to seek asylum abroad in the wake of the accusation by his wife, Busola Dakolo, that she was raped at 16 by the Senior Pastor of the Commonwealth of Zion Assembly, Abuja, Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo.
Busola made the allegations in a video interview with a blogger, Chude Jideonwo.
A number of ladies also made similar allegations of rape and sexual assault against Fatoyinbo, who denied all the accusations.
The pastor had stepped down for a month when the scandal broke in June but returned to his office.
The report had quoted Kemi as saying that one of Fatoyinbo’s accusers had already relocated to the United States.
It reads: “The Dakolo family reportedly trying to LEAVE Nigeria in the middle of a rape investigation. Tumishe Oluyede the alleged second victim has already fled to America. She never filed a police report of any rape. I exposed her identity when Chude “forgot” to disguise her voice. Remember @busoladakolo said NPF forced her to sign an invitation at gun point. Did Timi sign at gunpoint too? Busola later lied that the interview with the @guardian was NOT NEW as if Nigerians forgot that Saturday in July 2019. So many lies, the movie script has fallen apart.”
Responding to the report, Dakolo said: “I swear i didnt know they denied me visa. Please let me check my passport again whether my visas to the mentioned places have expired. They are still valid.Maybe it is another Timi Dakolo. Mad people everywhere.”
