Peoples Democratic Party on Friday suspended controversial Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Ndudi Elumelu, and six others for indiscipline, insubordination and disobedience to party directives.
The others are Wole Oke, Lynda Ikpeazu, Anayo Edwin, Gideon Gwadi, Toby Okechukeu and Adekoya Abdul-Majid, according to a statement by its spokesman, Kola Ologbondiyan.
The suspended PDP members of the House of Representatives had disregarded a list of minority leaders sent by the party leadership to the Speaker, Femi Gbajabiamila, and instead submitted another one.
Elumelu consequently emerged minority leader.
The group had said that PDP did not carry other minority parties before drawing up the list.
They were suspended for one month while the matter was referred to the PDP National Disciplinary Committee in line with Section 57(3) of its constitution.
