Police, FRSC rescue drunken woman from Ogun bush

A combined team of policemen and Federal Road Safety Corps marshals on Monday rescued a drunken woman from a bush on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway in Ogun State.

The unidentified woman, believed to be in her 30s, is said to be an itinerant recharge cards vendor, got herself drunk early in the day.

Metrostarng had observed the woman’s unsteady movement on the inward Lagos side of the expressway, which was gripped by a gridlock around 11.30am.

She suddenly jumped into a bush at ASCON Trailer Park bus stop, put her bag aside, lay down on a clump of grasses and slept off.

Not even the slight showers could rouse her from her sleep.

Occupants of passing vehicles and pedestrians stared at the strange sight as they passed by.

Our correspondent swiftly contacted FRSC Sector Commander in Ogun State and he swiftly sent some marshals to investigate the incident.

Upon getting to the spot, the marshals assessed the lady and found she was still breathing.

They then invited police who roused the woman and got her to sit down on a concrete slab nearby.

When she regained stability, she was allowed to go.
