Ogun State Governor, Ibikunle Amosun, on Tuesday reinstated the state chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Akeem Ambali, after protesters took to the streets of the state capital, Abeokuta.
Ambali was sacked along with 15 other labour leaders in 2016 following a dispute with the are government.
However, Amosun reinstated the others and ignored calls to recall Ambali.
The governor had held meetings with a delegation led by the NLC President, Comrade Ayuba Wabba on Monday and Tuesday.
He reinstated Ambali and agreed to clear a backlog of workers’ salaries and gratuities.
Wabba confirmed the development in a chat with newsmen.
Also, the governor’s media adviser, Rotimi Durojaiye, said in a Facebook post that the crisis had been resolved.
