The Federal Government on Thursday promised to provide help to submerged communities in Anambra and other states,
A number of riverside communities have been affected by floods arising from the overflowing of the banks of River Niger due to heavy rains.
Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo, who promised the assistance during a visit to parts of the state affected by flooding, said government was worried about the situation.
He was accompanied on a canoe tour of some of the area by Anambra State Governor, Willie Obiano; his Delta State counterpart, Ifeanyi Okowa; and the Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr. Chris Ngige.
Osinbajo later moved to Delta State in continuation of his tour.
