The Ayangburen of Ikorodu, Oba Adewale Shotobi, has barred non-indigenes from moving into or around the city from midnight on Saturday September 1, 2018 to 5.30am on Sunday September 2, 2018 as the people mark Eluku festival.

The restriction was contained in a notice issued by the Keyoolu family.

The notice also contained a restriction order for midnight on Wednesday August 29 to 5.30am on Thursday August 30 although Metrostarng could not confirm if it was observed.

This is the second time in three months that the monarch is issuing a controversial order barring certain categories of people from entering or moving around the town.

He had incurred the wrath of Nigerians in May when he reportedly issued an order barring movement by women for the Oro Day celebration.

He later denied issuing the order.

No comment was available from the state government or state police command on Thursday.
