Media aide to Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose, Mr. Lere Olayinka, has debunked online reports that his boss and Deputy Governor Olusola Eleka, visited All Progressives Congress chieftain, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, in Lagos on Sunday.
Olayinka, in a post on Facebook on Sunday night, said the fake story was being peddled by APC social media agents.
He said he posted the picture on Facebook in Wednesday August 1, 2018, with a message from the governor wishing Ekiti people a happy new month.
He attached the post and said that Fayose would never defect from the Peoples Democratic Party to APC.
His post reads: "Here is the picture that APC goons are circulating as one taken when Governor Fayose visited Tinubu in Lagos today.
"I used the picture on Wednesday August 1, 2018.
"Let me state it expressly that Governor Fayose is not coming to APC and did not meet any Tinubu today.
"Linking him with APC is like linking the governor with warned robbers who stole the mandate of Ekiti people.
"If it will remain just one man that will stand against the tyrannical government of Muhammadu Buhari that man is Peter Ayodele Fayose. He remains in PDP.
"If the dying party, APC, is looking for credible peopke as members that will be available for its final demise, count Fayose out.
"Governor Fayose remains committed to the task of rescuing Nigeria and it’s people from the APC and its tyrannical government and no amount of threat, intimidation and blackmail will make him to even consider going APC.
"PDP – Power to Nigerians."
