The Presidency n Monday night reached out to Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, in a desperate be to stop him from leaving the All Progressives Congress.
Ortom had earlier said at an event in the state capital, Makurdi, that he had been pushed out of the party.
Presidency hawks summoned APC Deputy National Chairman, Alhaji Lawal Shuaibu, and Orton’s estranged godfather, So Aso Rock, Senator George Akume, to Aso Rock for a meeting.
It also invited Ortom to the meeting.
Meanwhile, a former Minister of Aviation, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, has praised Ortom for dumping APC.
In a twee on Monday, the former Peoples Democratic Party presidential spokesman said: "I congratulate Gov. Ortom of Benue state for dumping the APC. He has shown courage. The people of Benue, Plateau, Taraba, Southern Kaduna, Adamawa and the MiddleBelt are suffering immensly in the hands of @MBuhari and his Fulani terrorists and it is time for them to be thrown out of power."
