In his characteristic style of trampling on Democratic stick institutions, President Muhammadu Buhari has ordered soldiers to surround Ekiti State Government House.
Metrostarng learnt that the soldiers were ordered to place Governor Ayodele Fayose ubder house arrest till his tenure expires in October.
In a brazen affront on the Constitution, Metrostarng learnt that Buhari had given orders for a clampdown on members of the state government and leasing Peoples Democratic Party members in the state.
The plan is to destroy PDP in the state and frustrate any plan by the party’s governorship candidate, Prof. Kolapo Olusola Eleka, to challenge the declaration by the Independent National Electoral Commission that Dr. Kayode Fayemi of the All Progressives Congress eon the election.
Already, some senior lawyers have been contacted to file a suit at the state election tribunal challenging the declaration.
The sinister plot is to ground the state and prevent Fayose from paying salaries or performing his functions, in order to stop him from concluding his second term.
However, the situation is already stirring up anger across Nigeria, with insinuations gaining ground Buhari is bent on foisting himself on Nigerians for a second term by every means possible.
Buhari, who travelled to the Netherlands on Sunday, is believed to be warming up for a general clampdown on the media, civil society, opposition politicians and persons criticising his government on social media.
Metrostarng learnt that he may use executive orders to circumvent the Constitution and detain people indefinitely without trial.
