Yet again, Buhari summons security chiefs

In an unprecedented move, President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday met with service chiefs and heads of security agencies over mounting system charity challenges in the country.

Buhari met with the security chiefs on Tuesday and Wednesday and again summoned them on thursday.

Thursday’s meeting lasted less than 30 minutes.

On Tuesday, he met with service chiefs and the Minister of Defence, Mansur Dan-Ali.

On Wednesday, he held an expanded security meeting with the minister, service chiefs and heads of security agencies.

Also at the meeting on Tuesday were the Director-General of
Department of State Services (DSS) Lawan Daura, and the Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency, Ahmed Rufa’i.

The National Security Adviser to the President, Retired Maj-Gen. Babagana Munguno and the Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, also attended the meeting.

The minister of defence, who briefly spoke to State House correspondents, said the meeting reviewed issues deliberated upon at their last meeting.

He said “We came to review what we did at the last meeting.”
