Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Ayodele Fayose, has raised the alarm over alleged plot by the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in the State, Dr. Kayode Fayemi to implicate him and some chieftains of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in murder cases.

Howrver, Fayemi accused Fayose if importing thugs from the Niger Delta and camping them in the Government House, Ado Ekiti to unleash mayhem on APC chieftains

The governor alleged that a meeting was held in Isan-Ekiti, the hometown of Dr. Kayode Fayemi, the flag bearer of the APC in the July 14, 2018 governorship election where a certain thug was allegedly assigned with the task of of killing people and dumping their corpses in houses belonging to PDP chieftains as well as Fajuyi Park.

At the APC secretariat on Friday, a chieftain, Hon. Opeyemi Bamidele, and five others were hit by shots by a policeman brought from Lagos to protect a party leader.

Fayose told journalists that the murder plot was real and called on the people of the state to be vigilant.

He alleged that APC had desperately tried to pin a murder case on him over Friday’s reckless shooting by a mobile policeman.

The governor said; “This alarm has become necessary because of a meeting that was held yesterday, in Isan-Ekiti, the hometown of Dr. Kayode Fayemi, the flag bearer of the APC in the July 14, 2018 governorship election.

“They have hired one Agbara to kill one or two indigenes of Ekiti and dump their bodies in the houses of PDP leaders, Fajuyi Park, in Ado Ekiti or near the government house. This is an attempt to link me and my party with killings.

“This new plot is as a result of the failure of the plot to link me with the shooting of Hon. Michael Opeyemi Bamidele (MOB) and others by a policeman at the APC secretariat on Friday.

“We take exception to this sinister plot as we will not be a party to violence act. Ekiti has been peaceful in the last three and half years, we want to keep enjoying this peace and will not want it disrupted because of politics. Our ambition is not worthy of the blood of any Ekiti indigene.

“We therefore call on the police and other security agencies to be vigilant and Ekiti people to please be watchful. Your life and my life will not be used as sacrifice for this election.

“I want to plead with everyone to please take note that violence is not an option. I also urge the federal government to take necessary steps to safe Ekiti from further crisis.”

Fayemi’s spokesman, Olayinka Oyebode, howrver, punctured the claims in a message to Metrostarng.

It reads: “That is Fayose’s usual antics. Whenever he wants to carry out his evil plot or violence act he first raises a false alarm so that when it eventually happens the opposition would receive the blame.

“He has done this several times and we hope the security agencies are on too of this his false alarm wjivhbisbusually a smokescreen for a greater evil he plans to unleash on the opposition.

“Governor Fayose is the one who habours thugs imported from Niger Delta in the Govenment House complex waiting for tbe right time to unleash them.

“He is the one that has a record of state killings in Ekiti State. The cases of Dr. Ayodeji Daramola and Mr. Omojola are still very fresh in our memories.

“You will recall also that prior to Friday’s unfortunate incident, he had gone on the state radio and television inciting the public against the APC rally.

“He is the one who is afraid of his shadows in view of his past killings and violence sponsorship. and i hope the security agencies are alerted to this old trick of his.

“He surely has some sinister motives judging from his statements before and after the Friday’s gun attack. his statements nothing but an attempt to distract public attention as a possible cover for his evil plan.

“But whatever plans he has have failed already. The people now understand his antics very well. He is the one funding the nest of killers in Ekiti.”
