Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, on Sunday predicted that his predecessor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, would be heavily defeated in the July 14, 2018 governorship election in the state.
Fayose was reacting to the declaration of Fayemi as the winner of the All Progressives Congress governorship primaries held n Saturday.
Fayemi beat 31 other aspirants to clinch the ticket.
President Muhammadu Buhari’s political Adviser, Babafemi Ojudu, had withdrawn from the race on Thursday, citing unethical practices in the preparations for the election.
In a tweet, Fayose stated: “I thank the APC for giving Ekiti people a candidate they love to vote against at all times. Fayemi should not celebrate this pyrrhic victory yet because it is nothing but a flame that will be quenched on July 14. He should expect to suffer worse defeat compared to that of 2014.
