Beware of falling trees, FRSC warns road users

Federal Road Safety Corps on Sunday warned travellers on the nation’s highways to be on the alert against falling trees.
It issued the warning after a number of big trees fell on Sagamu-Benin Exoressway around Ajebabdele in Ondo State.
The incident followed Saturday’s downpour that affected many parts of the country.
FRSC’s Corps Public Education Officer, Bisi Kazeem said in a statement that it’s marshals cleared many of the trees on Saturday and returned on Sunday to continue with the work.
He advised motorists to apply “commonsense speed limits,” while playing the road.
He added that the Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola. And FRSC Corps-Marshal, Boboye Oyeyemi, had ordered security surveillance on the road to avoid any mishap.
