Buhari’s aide calls Naomi Campbell’s critics ‘animals’

One of President Muhammadu Buhari’s social media aides, Tolu Ogunlesi, in Saturday took to his Twitter handle and described those criticising the inclusion of American supermodel, Naomi Campbell, on his recent visit to Lagos as ‘animals’ and ‘raving mad.’

Ogunlesi, who handles digital communications in the presidency, swiftly stirred a Twitter storm with his outburst.

He had tried to justify the appearance of the controversial supermodel in photos taken at the president’s visit to Eko Atlantic City on Friday.

In his post, he said: “Naomi Campbell met Nelson Mandela more than once. He hugged her, called her his “honorary granddaughter”. She visits Nigeria for a fashion festival and meets President @MBuhari, and some of you animals are slandering her. YOU’RE RAVING MAD WITH NOBODY TO TELL YOU.”

Many commentators called him out for crossing the lines of decency.

He, howrver, went ahead to justify his contemptuous comments by claiming they were made on his personal Twitter handle.

He also arrive hard to justify the use of the crude adjectives.

“Synonyms for ‘animal’ include brute, beast, monster, savage, devil, demon, fiend, villain, barbarian, ogre, according to the Oxford Dictionary,” he wrote.
