Again, IOM returns 149 Nigerians from Libya

The International Organisation for Migration on Thursday again returned 149 Nigerians to the country from Libya.

The returnees were received on arrival by the South West Zonal Coordinator of NEMA, Alhaji Yakubu Suleiman, consisted of 107 male adults, 37 female adults including a medical case, four female children and ine female infant.

The coordinator warned the returnees not to embark on illegal migration again.

“Nigeria has more than enough resources that can cater for our needs but it is left for every one of us to tap from any these abundant resources,” he said.

He assured them that governments at Federal and State levels have lots of incentives for the returnees for their rehabilitations and reintegration to compliment European Union and IOM

The chartered flight by Buraq airline with registration number 5A-DMG landed at 10:45 pm at the NAHCO Tarmac of the Murtala Muhammad International Airport.

Mr AbrhamTamrat, the Programme Managerof IOM in Lagos, handed over the returnees to NEMA.

On arrival, all the returnnes were given a phone with airtime courtesy of the Offices of the Senior Special Assistant on SDGs and Diaspora/Foreign Affairs.
