President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday visited the Government Girls Science Technical College, Dapchi, Yobe State, from where Boko Haram insurgents kidnapped 100 pupils last month and gave the assurance that they would return safely.
Buhari , who was accompanied by Yobe State Governor, Ibrahim Gaidam, told parents of the girls that his administration was negotiating for the unconditional release of the pupils.
He also vowed that his administration would completely eliminate the terrorist group.
Buhari noted that he had instructed the service chiefs and the Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, to sustain the search for the schoolgirls.
He gave the assurance that the girls would be reunited with their families just like the 100 pupils of Government Girls Secondary School, Chibok, Borno State, who had so far been released by the insurgents out of 276 kidnapped from the school on April 14, 2018.
