President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday ordered security chiefs to deal ruthlessly with killer herdsmen, militias, cultists abs kidnappers across the country.
Sources told Metrostarng that the president issued the order at an enlarged meeting with security chiefs in Abuja.
Also at the meeting were Vice-Presisent Yemi Osinbajo; Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha; Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Abayomi Olonishakin; the service chiefs and Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris.
Also in attendance were the heads of the Nigerian Immigration Service, Nigeria Customs Service, Nigeria Fire Service, Federal Road Safety Commission, Nigeria Prisons Service and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps.
None of the security chiefs was willing to speak on the situation.
However, it is not unlikely that Buhari might effect a shakeup in the security services over major breaches and killings across the country.
In recent days, herdsmen have killed about 10 police officers across the country and butchered tens of innocent citizens across the country.
