Dankwambo to Buhari: Too late to deceive Nigerians

Gombe State Governor, Ibrahim Dankwambo, on Thursday lashed out at President Muhammadu Buhari over the arrest of the immediate past Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal.

Dankwambo, in a Facebook post, wonders why it took the Buhari administration almost one year to arrest and prosecute Lawal over alleged link to improprieties in grass-cutting contracts at aomw Internally-Displaced Persons camps.

He also wondered why it had to take ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo’s scathing 13-page criticism of Buhari for the government to act.

Obasanjo had in his special press statement accused Buhari of nepotism and of failing to take decisive action against corruption members of his administration.

Dankwambo said: “Why did it take one year to arrest Babachir Lawal? Is it because former President Olusegun Obasanjo spoke up yesterday? It’s too late to deceive Nigerians.”

Dankwambo is believed to be nursing an ambition to run for president on the ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party n 2019.
