APDA: NEC Passes Vote Of Confidence On Mohammed


Following recent developments in the newly registered Advanced Peoples Democratic Alliance (APDA), its National Executive Committee (NEC) has passed a vote of confidence on the Mallam Shitu Mohammed-led National Working Committee (NWC).
The party has also set up a disciplinary committee to investigate the activities of some members alleged to have recently erred against its constitution.
This resolution was reached yesterday during the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting held at its secretariat in Abuja.
Addressing journalists at the end of the meeting, the second since its formation about two months ago, Mohammed stated that members to be investigated included High Chief Raymond Dokpesi, Dan Nwanyanwu and Mainasara Ilo.
Recall that the trio had at a press conference last week sacked the Mohammed-led leadership of the party, which the latter described as illegal, null and void.
He therefore disclosed that members “found to have violated the constitution of the party in holding an unauthorized meetings and other anti-party activities including  High Chief Raymond Dokpesi, Dan Nwanyanwu and Mainasara Ilo should be given an opportunity to state their case within 48hours”.
“The disciplinary committee is to be headed by Bar. Mohammed Sani Takori, former Attorney General of Zamfara state and former member, House of Representatives”.
He added that NEC also empowered the National Working Committee of the party to set up state structures to the ward levels, stressing that it also “called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to disregard all purported meetings presided over by Dokpesi, who has been suspended by the party and any purported resolutions therefrom.”
He further stated that the NEC also resolved to participate in the forthcoming Anambra State Governorship Election and consolidate all efforts towards getting the best candidate of credibility andcapability
