I”m Going Through Tough Time – Kaduna Deputy Gov

Kaduna State deputy governor, Architect Barnabas Bala Bantex has admitted that he was under   pressure from his kinsmen to do more for the people of  Southern Kaduna in terms of dividends of democracy.
The Deputy governor lamented that  he is going through a very tough time and needs more prayers than his boss, Malam Nasir el-Rufai.
It would be recalled that the deputy governor had in recent times been under constant bashing from his kinsmen who accused him of doing little or nothing for the area especially in the midst of crisis and security challenges that have ravaged  the area, and in most cases called on him to resign from el-Rufai’s government.
Several meetings held with the deputy governor had ended in a deadlock as the people virtually disagreed with him on virtually every issue concerning the area.
However, Bala-Bantex solicited their prayers in his remarks at the graduation of students from the Centre for the Study of Christian – Muslim relation in Kaduna,  In his words: “As a deputy governor of Kaduna State, I need more prayers probably more than the governor.
“This is because we are living in a state where religion and ethnicity is the prism which we want to measure the successes or failure of government and you know that this is not right” .
“As a Christian working with a governor who is a Muslim, in many cases have  been requested to act and seen to conform more with religious, ethnic colours than what our oath of office demands of us and I have not had it easy. I need your prayers.
“Here is a gentleman (el-Rufai) who having taken the oath of office on the 29 of May, 2015, has kept me in sharp focus to the content of that office.”
