‘Baba Ijebu’ employee commits suicide hours after Facebook post

A Nigerian man and employee of Premier Lotto Limited aka Baba Ijebu identified as Ariyo Olanrewaju Taiwo has reportedly committed suicide at an undisclosed location after posting about his depressing thoughts on Facebook.

He appears to have killed himself on Monday March 6, 2017.

According to screenshots of his post, Ariyo appeared to have been suffering from depression after what may have been an unsettling experience.

He had posted: “Only got few hours tp live…. feeling depressed but not scared of death… wish I can make things right again but NO….. it’s over….”

The man, who indicated that he was working at the 16-year-old gaming company, on to his Facebook profile, was also once a student of Lagos State Polytechnic, Ikorodu, Lagos State.

A friend of his, Ibidun Pino Olaniyi, apparently trying to make light of his post, responded: “U wan commit suicide?…… guy, come take rope.”

A few minutes later, he posted again: “Brother, please don’t die a wasteful (sic) death….. Willingly make yourself available for money ritual. God won’t be angry at us….. God bless U as U make yourself a living sacrifice.”

Some of his friends took to his wall to express their anguish at his passing.

One of them, Rashylad Alayo Tgold Ewatolola, wrote: “Hmmmmmm R.I.p Taiwo may ur perfect soul rest in perfect peace so painful — feeling sad.”

Responding to her post, Okey Ogwara stated: “Why u?”; Mary Nejo said: “Miss (h)is wahala and ijogbon (aggressive nature). Rest in peace bro.”, Oladimeji Remilekun wrote: “OMG!!!!!!! This is so pathetic. RIP”, while Ariyo Yewande Olajumoke cried: “Will miss you so much.”
