Minister of Health, Dr. Osagie Ehanire, on Wednesday said 2000 persons had been tested for Coronavirus in Nigeria.
Out of the number, the country’s current number of positive cases stands at 151 as at today.
Speaking at a press conference in Abuja, the minister said Lagos and Abuja had the highest figures of 82 and 28 respectively.
He noted that two more laboratories had been added at University College Hospital, Ibadan and Federal Teaching Hospital, Abakaliki, Ebonyi State to the network of molecular centres for the Nigerian Centre for Disease Control.
He stated that the age range of infected persons stood at between 30 and 60, with make being 70 per cent and female 30 per cent.
He said the lockdown of Lagos State, Abuja and Ogun State had would help immensely to break the cycle of transmission.
He said a 1000-bed spaces had been set up in Abuja for isolation and treatment of mild to moderate cases.
