S’East govs plan 430km link road

Governors of the five South-East states have resolved to jointly construct a 430-kilometre link road.

The link road will connect all the states of the zone, according to a communique issued at the end if their meeting in Enugu on Sunday.

The forum’s Chairman, Ebonyi State Governor Dave Umahi, who read the communique, said that the road would promote economic development and ease tranapoetation within the zone.

The governors directed the leadership of the South-East Traditional Rulers Council to appear at their next meeting to discuss the crisis rocking the fold.

The governors also took presentations from the Bureau of Public Service Rwfirms; consultants on gas pipeline projects in the zone; and former Minister of Power, Prof. Barth Nnaji, on the Abia State Independent Power Project.

Other governors at the meeting were Okezie Ikpeazu (Abia); Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (Enugu); while Imo State Governor Rochas Okorocha was represented by his deputy, Eze Madumere.
