Total E&P Trains 250 on Entrepreneurial Development in A/Ibom

In demonstration of her commitment towards entrepreneurial
development and eradication of employment in its host communities,
Total E&P Nigeria Limited has organized a two day entrepreneurial
Development workshop for 250 skills acquisition programme
beneficiaries in Akwa Ibom.
Addressing participants of the programme yesterday at the Governor’s
Office Annex, in Uyo, Deputy General Manager, Community Affairs and
Development Mr. James Urho said that the workshop was organized to
professionally guide and prepare participants on how to start their
own business.
He said that (NNPC)/TEPNG in furtherance of her corporate Social
Responsibility has continued to sponsor on annual basis apart from
skill acquisition programmes other educational development proramms in
her host communities in Akwa Ibom state.
Such programmes according to him include award of scholarship at
postsecondary, post Graduate local and post Graduate foreign to
qualified indigenes students of Akwa Ibom based on MoU agreement
between TEPNG and the communities.
He reiterated TEPNG’s commitment in supporting government’s
efforts at empowering Nigerian youths for sustainable livelihood,
poverty alleviation and small-scale enterprise development.
‘’As a corporate organization, this two days workshop is a clear
demonstration of our corporate capacity building initiatives in
sustainable and Educational Development and support to communities.
This objective is in line with the Global Sustainable Development Goal
championed by the United Nations in the area of sustainability and
Educational Development.
‘’We in Total quite appreciate and respect our skills acquisition
graduands for the important role they play in our host communities. It
is therefore our firm believe that this collaborative partnership will
help in achieving qualitative entrepreneur in the state’’ Urho stated.
While commending the facilitator of the programme and urged them to
use their expertise to deliver on the companies objectives he enjoined
participants to take the training serious as it will assist them in
their business endeavor.
