Bike crash: Buhari’s son undergoes surgery, stabilises

President Muhammadu Buhari’s son, Yusuf, had undergone a brain surgery and is now in a stable condition.

Buhari’s son and a bosom friend, Bashir Gwandu, were involved in a power bike crash in Gwarimpa, Abuja in December 26, 2017 and lapsed into a coma.

They were both admitted to Cedarcrest Hospitals on Sam Mbakwe Street in Apo Dutse, Gudu Distruct, Abuja.

Not much had been heard about Gwandu but Senior Special Assistabt to the President on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu, had said in a statement that Yusuf sustained a head injury with multiple fractures including a broken limb.

President of the Guild of Medical Directors, Prof. Femi Dokun Babalola, said on Wednesday that Yusuf had undergone a successful surgery and was stable.

The surgery was conducted by a team of senior doctors at the hospital.

Babalola said in a statement that his case was being habdked effectively and that he was recuperating.

“We are saddened to hear about the unfortunate incident invokvibg the sin of our dear president on a power bike.

“While we cannot comment on the exact circumstances of the accident, we are happy that the situation is being effectively handled.

“It is heartening to note that his condition is now stable after undergoing brain surgery and we hope for a complete recovery from this unfortunate incident,” he said.
